At the moment I'm listening to Music Box of Time by Megurine Luka and Rainyday.
Yeah, it's in Japanese.
Yeah, it's sung by a Vocaloid.
Yeah, the main part is played by an accordian.
Yeah, it sounds really, really French or something.
Yeah, you guys probably won't like it.
But it is a very pretty and calming song. I would post a link, but this can't copy and paste, and I don't feel like doing it manually. Rainyday's other works are quite nice as well.

o hai gaisu ai am goin' tu talku abotu jei popu
Yeah, Japanese music. Don't just dissmiss it as all trash, because dumping an entire country's musical output is not a good thing.
I guess I'll just pick out some artists and songs that I like.
This Posts Featured Artist: Susumu Hirasawa: this guy's music is... Different. He made the soundtrack for the movie Paprika, which is a great Spirited Away kind of movie, and has quite a bit of albums out. I'd reccomend these songs, for starters: - Byakkoya no Musume (The Girl From Byakkoya): This is the main track from Paprika, and it deserves to be so. It has a good, catchy tune and an uplifting beat. It also has backing vocals from Meiko, my favorite Vocaloid. - Hotel Haldyn: This song has a full orchestra behind it, and a pleasant marching-band feel. There is a fantastic cover version of it by Bucchigiri-P and Kaito, which is better than the original. Trust me on this. - Parade: Another song from Paprika. This one is just great. Powerful vocals, catchy, easy to sing the lyrics. The parts in the movie where this song plays are pretty surreal and creepy, though. - Jouken Douji: This, if I remember correctly, was made for the movie Tokyo Godfathers. It's very odd, but it grows on you. It's nothing like any song I've heard before!
Stay tuned for the next installment of Fujiko Talks Abotu J-Pop, I guess!

Hmmm. How about my top 10 Vocaloid songs?
Yeah yeah, Vocaloid, doesn't sound human most of the time, a little annoying... It takes a ton of effort and time to get right, so most people don't.
Here are the good ones. Most of these were written to be sung by the Vocaloids, but if you want a human singing 'em, you could always check Youtube or Nico Nico.
10. Seikan Hikou Meiko
This was originally a theme song for some late 80's anime that I forgot. This is the best version done by Vocaloids. Using the oldest version. It's been covered a bunch of other times, and because it's Meiko, it doesn't sound very smooth, but it has emotion and character. I like it.
9. Yukkuri Shi.teitte Ne! Hatsune Miku
"Take it easy!" she says, but this song doesn't. It's upbeat and energetic, and you won't get tired of it. Or at least, I didn't, it's the 4th most played song on my iPod. Miku's voice is really high, though.
8. Bringing the Rain Kagamine Len
This song is a 6 minute ballad. It is good. Len's voice is as clear as it could possibly be, and it just wouldn't work with anyone else. It's a little obscure, but really nice.
7. Cantarella Kaito and Hatsune Miku
Yeah, it's kind of overused, but for good reason. Try to find the original, it's the best. It's style isn't for everyone, but it deserves a spot on this list.
6. Hikyousentai Urotandaa Kaito, Meiko and Hatsune Miku
This is the starting track of a concept album based upon the Vocaloids fighting people with giant robots. That should be all you need to know. It has a lot of hot-blooded goodness, and a good tune. The lyrics, instead of being about heart and soul like most songs of this type, are about fighting dirty and winning in the easiest way possible. A good time is had by all.
Top 5 next post, I suppose. Note that this is subject to love-it-or-hate-it, so...

Ahem.
5. 'To Aru Uta Utai Ningyou no Kiroku' series Kaito
Five songs and an 8 minute medley make up this tale of swords and sorcery about a princess from the land of snow swearing revenge on the prince who killed her brother, with Kaito as the narrator. The songs are a little depressing, but show great musical talent. Also: Meiko gets her eyes ripped out. I hate to say this, but seeing how she treats everyone else most of the time, it serves her right. Oh, the snow princess gets killed in the end. She wasn't really a good guy anyways.
4. Music Box of Time Megurine Luka
I already talked about it. Bottom line: if they ever make a Gunnerkrigg Court movie, this should be in it. Basically, it has Luka selling a music box that feeds off people's memories.
3. Black Rock Shooter Hatsune Miku
Yeah, really overused, but for good reason. It's about a character that Ryo's friend came up with, Ryo being the writer of this song. Black Rock Shooter has a vendetta against her childhood friend, Dark Master, for betraying her and becoming evil. Supposedly, those aren't their given names. Black Rock Shooter has a huge gun, a huge sword, a bikini, a leather jacket, a motorcycle, and blue fire coming out of her left eye. There is one word for that: badass. Her teammates include a robot mercenary and a meido. Yeah, the song is cool too.
2. Honey Starring Meiko, but everyone's in it
The song is good. The voice tuning is passable. The 3D work is amazing. You just have to see the full pakage. This song was made on Meiko's release date, to try and make her a little less obscure. It worked.
1. Nico Nico Douga Ryuuseigun Meiko, Kaito, Miku, Rin and Len
A rather famous thing. 13 minutes of a medley of various memetic songs, with great voice tuning. It's good all around, and that's why it's number one.
Honorable mentions next, I suppose.
