Tarantulas are cute.

I picked up a razor to shave and looked at it right before it hit my face and LO AND BEHOLD a big brown spider was curled up under the head, mere centimeters from my delicate hand. I cast the blade to the wind, squealing like a little girl, and when it hit the counter the spider flew off. It walked around as if it was drunk.

when they are extremely mild and just chill unless you like break their bones and stuff

brown recluse bites are generally very mild and rarely cause any lasting damage, except to infants and the elderly, who are not only the most vulnerable but are also the most likely to be bitten in the first place as children are nowhere near cautious and the elderly have less refined basic senses (ie. sight)

If the only brown recluse bites the media reports are the most severe ones, then of course they're going to have serious necrosis.

Individual brown recluse spiders have their own levels of danger, but in any likelihood, a healthy adult is not in any threat

it's very rare to actually suffer large damage / necrosis from a brown recluse
