once you get to book 4, the series falls apart and becomes utter ****.

basically everything that ever happens in harry's life is evil, the problem being that intrigue and strategy are lost when everything acharacter does is because of a Magical Plot Twist, literally magical of course, that exists and happens purely for convenience

for instance yo dog i heard you like killing and cursing so we put a kill in this curse so you can curse while you kill and curse -- what the hell kind of plot device is "a spell that kills people"? That's just bull****.

or how about those deathly hallows? how about the "Wand that beats everything"?

harry potter is built upon successively larger trump cards, and it's a wonder they haven't made an actual TCG of it yet
