To talk during a class (like when you're bored after a test and what not.)
To talk during a party with loud music/people
To talk during church
etc.

Sometimes you're in a place/situation where you can't talk

Texting is a bit harder, but then you don't have to interrupt a conversation you are currently having.

Also once you get used to it T9Word texting is a breeze.

You are just unwilling to evoooooooooolve.
