I'm not saying that they will be, but I do think that the mods should drop their 'selective hearing' attitude.

nice being a spoiled kid you're privileged to get a message board in the first place

Also, simple question - is there an [hr] tag in phpBB? Can't bother checking. If there isn't, add one.

Only two or three guys are actualy working on it, the rest are just using the reboot as excuse to permanently put online all the stupid ideas that failed in the past with less people complaining.

They're doing changes based on what they want and not the community, it's their right to do so, but doesn't make it any less selfish, and considering we're a powerless majority, complaining is all we have as we see this forum crumble into what the staff always wanted, a main-site with sprite competions and news topics.

it's not the administration who's being selfish. none of them wants to babysit you spoiled brats. none of them wants to sit around grinding on php coding.

they do it because that's their duty.

you need to assign the tags with html

but yeah I think you should ask RII about that and not in this topic

administrators can add custom phpBB tags


you click the ACP and verify your login

you then click the POSTING top tab

followed by BBCodes on the left (first option)

On the right, there's a grey button "Add a new BBCode"

in the first box type [hr][/hr] -- phpBB won't let you add tags that don't close.

in the second box type <hr>

In the third box type "Horizontal rule"

Click "Display on posting page" if you want it to be clickable in the posting page

Click Submit

Should've thought about that before accepting the position then, but it seems that making changes so their job can be 90% easier is alot more comfortable than actualy doing it, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the whole point of this is to cut the community into 1/4 what it was before just to have less people.

Most governments atleast try to keep their people happy, no matter how much they write angry newspaper articles or throw rocks, this is flat-out flipping off and saying "none of our business grin and bear it"

And Draco, we all know that without the CCC, none of the other forums except fangame discussion would be as active, we don't even have long time members that stay for the fangames enough! Without the "marketing", without the lure for members it'll just become slower and slower until it becomes comparable to those school-site forums where only 10 or so students actualy keep posting, because nobody really gives a **** about the other forums unless they're waiting for a PPP downtime to end or something.

p.s. lax gc won't work, been there, done that, the lax will just go as far as letting in ccc topics that should be in the gc anyway, it will be nothing close to the experience

they do try. they fail because their people are insatiable pricks, like everybody on MFGG whining about a forum that's not even being removed.

You're not losing the CCC. You are losing the spam in the CCC. You are keeping the roleplaying game topics, translationparties, and any post with actual substance in it.

This is why the new general discussion topic on the new board is not called the general discussion -- because it's the CCC, just without the spam.

Which is the point. There's no reason whatever to separate the SERIOUS BUSINESS and idle chat forums.
