also you technically won't "lose" your posts since, unless plans have changed, this forum will still be viewable in archive mode

besides, TD, Kritter, Nite Shadow, Draco, Nova, I and several other EZBoard-era members lost our posts already, twice, over two different message board versions of MFGG, and aren't complaining

nor did we complain when moving to a new forum software

i myself was very happy to move away from ezboard because it was a really horrible board system

at the time we left the ezBoard i was too ignorant to even notice that post counts were recorded

The best thing about being a member of MFGG isn't posting frequently on a community of friendly people with a wide variety of interests.

It's showing everyone online that I did.

I hope so.

It's something you can do as standard with phpBB3, so unless they've removed it it'll still be in there.

It's standard in IPB, too, although most times it ends up being disabled.

Query: Is there a feature that allows you to completely ignore a member. Like... the text in their posts won't show up for you.

Might avoid silly debates if it's possible to just ignore the people you argue with.

Edit: Asking because I know some forums have this feature but I can't remember which off the top of my head.

Yes, that feature is present and enabled. Although you can still expand posts to view them.

? Why does that suck?
If you block a poster from showing up, obviously they won't show. If you don't want that to happen, why block the poster in the first place?

You're not making much sense :/

What if someone blocks me and then, out of spite, I block them and then they tell a newbie "Block DWFanaticMason, he's a jerk!" but I don't see that post so I can't defend myself so it starts a trend of newbies blocking me and then no one ever sees my posts! sad.gif

your fault for causing this? If someone blocked you, chances are they probably won't bother expanding the post anyway.

My prediction ala MFGG.

A user or some users block member. Member posts. Users that didn't block member reply to member. Users that ignored member spam the topic with questions on what the **** everyone is talking about.

lol

i've seen worse forums with that feature and they didn't arrive to that issue

besides, if you can expand the post, that means you can still see that the member posted (their text just can't be seen), so you can know that if something all the sudden goes a different direction or what-not, it was the blocked member's post
