Also, my copies of photoshop aren't pirated.

I stopped using photoshop entirely because I think it's wrong to use proprietary software for productivity.

I leave a little soft spot for games since those are artistic and unnecessary and blablabla.

almost everybody in this topic is "dumb" for wasting their time with such a convoluted and bloated program as photoshop

it's *severely* overrated and the insanely high price is due to the 50,000 effects added that nobody needs

hell adding those effects also ruined the organization and the interface is complete crap it takes three times as long to do anything as it should

honestly you can do it just as well in Paintshop Pro 7, and not any other version but 7, which doesn't have a junkland-tastic interface and has better vector support than photoshop does without the clunky "what the hell am i doing" feeling inherent in it or illustrator

so you know another program's layout better and that makes the first program crap.

photoshop contains absolutely nothing necessary at all that is not also in paintshop pro 7.

the only difference is that photoshop has junklandty vector support whereas psp7 has good vector support, and photoshop's interface is completely inexcusable whereas psp7 has the best interface ever.

i don't know why, but elements has a much better interface than the CS series does. adding all that new junk completely ruined it and made it take ages to do anything.

That's not what he was critiquing.

He was talking about the unnecessary features (i.e. the effects you can apply to pictures), if I understood correctly.

it's related, though. photoshop just ... isn't user-friendly. at all. it's like they designed it specifically for you to sloooowwlllly click through menus with the mouse instead of doing anything quickly with a keyboard or something.

oh, did i mention paintshop pro 7 has an unlimited undo history? it remembers every change you've made since the last time you opened the file.

photoshop has an entire pretend system dedicated to undoing. it's also limited to 20 actions.

this too. photoshop's simply not worth the junklandty interface in exchange for its meager and unnecessary added effects, even if you pirate it.

you're much better off with either PSP7 or a free software like GIMP or InkScape.

I don't know where you're going with this.

It still gives you much more than 20 undos either way.

In defense of PS, it does have quick keys that limit the amount of times you need to click off of the canvas.

Inkscape is incompatiable and for what I want to use Photoshop for I have Paint Tool Sai, cheaper and more Vista compatiable it seems than PSP7. Also the GIMP for image editing, Grahpics Gale for sprites, and Pencil for animations.

yes i forgot that undo history is actually stored in magical pancakes that float in nega-heaven's 6th gate of cheese

Oh, Paint Tool SAI is nice, too.

I like it for lineart and quick colouring.
