PSP7 has nothing but quick-keys. and unlike photoshop, it's actually consistent with which other key you hold to change what you're doing.

For instance, pressing keys without ctrl / alt / shift is almost dedicated to opening and closing palettes. ctrl keys deal with file manipulation and shift keys are mostly image effects.

in photoshop there's almost no way to remember what key does what since it's practically entirely random. Plus, since there's so many useless effects, every key does something, but most of them you never want to do.

This is fine as long as you're not wasting time / money / memory with PhotoShop.

Actually Inkscape, something I hoped I would be able to use to make my SAI stuff look more refined, turned out to be **** with my tablet, it simply won't respond.

I use gimp.

even if I avoid non-free software for day to day use, I'm still capable of judging programs on merits more or less unrelated to their licensing.

one of these days i'll figure out how to use gimp but for now paint.net does everything I need it to

I think I had psp7 years ago, wasn't too bad of a program

has a few glitches in it but nothing entirely unavoidable or absolutely breaking

sad that it crashes if you hover over a layer name too long though!

To be honest, I dislike how they're not making newer versions of photoshop FASTER. They're making them slower.

I have a pretty decent PC. But photoshop CS3 actually lags sometimes if I have other things open. And by lags, I mean I'll stroke with my tablet, and no line will appear, and then it'll appear like 2 seconds later (sometimes turned into a straight line). It's very disorienting.

But I still find Photoshop's layout and interface to be satisfactory.

PSP7 is amazing.

What the **** did they do with it. :(

Places with student discounts ask for proof of study then you buy stuff cheaper.

I just use GIMP at home.

It generally does essentially all the same stuff per my needs, both for free and legally, so what's the point?
