well, I havent been using gamemaker much, and I have decided I wanted to remake wolf 3d (A very old FPS game, the first ever invented).

NOTE: This does NOT use the gamemaker 3d first person shooter tutorial!

This game includes:
~AI that very closely resembles the Wolf3d AI
~secret rooms
~4 weapons
~4 soldiers, two bosses (although, only 2 enemies, and one boss are used in the levels of this game)
~good wolf 3d graphics, and sounds
~smooth collisions
~shooting (derr)
~and it feels like wolf 3d alot.

The controlls:
wsad = move
a and d = strafe
click = shoot
1,2,3,4 = weapons
shift = open doors(not secret doors, you just have to touch them, but good like finding them >:3)

in the main menu, press enter to start the game.

I might release it as en engine, if enough people want it.

Please don't release it as an engine. Engines become overused really fast if they don't only stick to the very basics.

You move way too slow and collision isn't as smooth as you claimed. You have to be really close to a door before you can open it and shift isn't a good button for that (space bar is much better).

I would make a game out of this, if I were you.

the lower hud menu needs to outside of the view frame. Atm it's blocking the view and it's incredibly annoying. Enlarge the window, reszie the view or entirely remove the hud (although Wolfenstein 3d needs it!)

the collision needs to be smoothed. If you try to walk into a wall at 45 degrees you're obviously braked but should still move slightly to the left. This doesn't happen.

The enemies lock on to you the minute you open the door, maybe add in a surprise factor? And once they've started shooting at you, they won't stop, not even if you close the door.

Good game though, really enjoyed it

I haven't tried this, but does your hitbox rotate as you turn? If so, that's bad. Especially in a remake of an old 2D FPS; both Wolfenstein and DOOM afaik had a box that never rotated. Build engines game did this as well, I think.
