Hey!

I've tried 2 programs to create games, they're Game Maker and Adobe Flash CS4.
Now, I want something more "powerful" than Game Maker (more features), a program which I can make better games with (and it needs to be free).

What should I try?

Combining the words "free", "good" and "program" is nearby impossible. Free, good and program would most likely fit to Game Maker - which is anything but lacking features. There's GML, and as long as it is used properly, you won't need anything more than that.

If you could cut the word "free", Multimedia Fusion 2 is also worth of getting mentioned. Easy D&D interface for the less advanced ones, extensions for the more advanced ones.

Cutting the word "program" would result in simply learning a programming language. Though as I know today's users, they prefer not to spend countless hours in learning one.

But yeah, Game Maker is your best bet for now.

Ok... Alice sounds good when I want to make 3D games, because I just have the Lite version of Game Maker. Thanks, I'll try it.

To be honest, Alice is really not a good program to use if you plan on making big fan games. :/
We are currently doing it in my Java class, because its supposed to teach you all about Java. The interface is basicly drag-and-drop like game makers, but in a really different way.

You place your actions in slots that are named 'do in order,' 'do together,' 'while,' 'loop,' and another one I can't think of.

Here is an example of what you could make in Alice.

You're going to want to use C++ if you want something powerful. Use the tutorials at http://www.cplusplus.com/, and when you have finished with those tutorials, get SFML and begin learning how to use it. SFML can be found at http://www.sfml-dev.org/

Also:
>I tried it, but it was too hard.
Too hard, or you didn't try to learn?

Vala or Python.

Vala may look like C++, but it is actually quite simple.

For the most part, you'll either find game creation programs that are expensive and easy to use, yet powerful, programs/languages that are free, but take awhile to learn.

If you don't want to learn C++, Python, etc. then Game Maker is pretty much your best option. If you can't dish out $20, it's still pretty useful (but you'll be limited from some pretty nice features), and you can learn GML fairly quickly (around a week at least, maybe less).
