These are a sample of what I'm
considering doing for my final project for a class. Essentially, it's one comic for each chapter of the epic Japanese tale
Genji Monogatari. Each comic is supposed to be a parody of an event or events that happens in the respective chapter. If I finish the project, there will be about 55 comics, so you can see why I am hesitant to go through with this.
I picked the style and format because I get the feeling my teacher is a closet weeaboo, so I tried to make it as supa kawaii animu as possible. I feel like the first jokes are a little... off... I may re-write them, but I'm curious about you guys' opinion of this as a project and also your feelings about it considering you probably haven't read the book. Is it still at least a little bit funny -- do you smile when you read it? Just curious; you won't hurt my feelings if you say "no," they are rather dependent on context.
I drew them up pretty quickly; the art isn't supposed to be
breath-taking (Each panel is maybe the size of a Post-It, c'mon!), just kind of funny and amusing. I tried to adorn the comic with more exaggerated expression rather than pinpointedly accurate anatomy and so on and so forth. I hope you'll understand that at a potential ~23 pages of comic, I'm not going to stress too much over that sort of thing.
