Discuss Past Troll'n, Whether you're proud of it or not

I'm just saying that some people call someone a troll just because he or she doesn't like something they like.


Now, if that person were to do it on purpose, then yes, that would be trolling.

saying "oh hey i don't like pokemon" should not be trolling
saying "u play pokemon? xD NERRRRD WHY DON'T YOU GO PLAY A REAL MAN'S GAME LIKE HALO *backflips into a sports car and removes shades*" should be

what if they play both

second situation isn't trolling at all. halo has been scientifically proven to be the best game ever made, and is preferred by those who wish to grow chest hair. i have scientific sources to back this claim.

It all depends on the context

If someone deliberately goes into a pokemon discussion thread and says "I don't like pokemon" they are obviously doing it for attention. On the other hand, if it comes up as off topic discussion in a random thread or something that's unrelated to the topic at hand, stating their opinion on it generally does not constitute trolling.


Likewise if the thread's topic was clearly like, "What is your opinion on pokemon?" then it would be acceptable there as well.


The second reply is trolling in any context, though.

Well just like giving too much information why post anything if you don't think people would care? Why say "I hate Mario" randomly if no one is talking about Mario? This is what makes trolls obvious.

I say make a topic out disliking Mario and see if it spills out to any other part of the forum or people come to your topic to disagree. That is if you must be a troll.
