Minigame Mayhem Trailer thing

I gave it its own topic because it'll get overlooked otherwise. Just a quickie (and bad quality) trailer showing off a bunch of minigames from my game i'm making.

Let this video either get you inspired to give me minigame ideas, or serve as something to get you excited. Either way is fine. Just thought i'd show off what i've got thus far in terms of my game.

The game play looks pretty good! However, some of the minigames look like they could get frustrating, but I'm sure you've got them all covered.

Also, the trailer itself was really nice and had a very professional feel to it!

Not really, someone gave me an idea in the other topic. It's a generic kind of minigame but it's fun and has plenty of originality i'm sure. It's basically just glorified Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Well, obviously some are meant to be a challenge! But then if you manage to win those, you get a chance for way more coins or high scores. There's plenty of easy games too, plus some that're completely free, but then there's the challenge ones or luck ones. It's got a pretty good mix I think.

also the game looks great. There's only one thing bugging me, and that's how open and lacking in details some of the areas are. Elsewise really good job.

To be honest I like it that way in some games, but other games will definitely need some graphical improvements. For me it's always gameplay > graphics first.

When I feel like I have enough games i'll start the graphical overhauling. Can you point out which ones feel lacking in particular though and where I might add detail?

here's some examples.

The first minigame in the video with the fireball Piranhas could use something behind Mario so it doesn't look look too dull. Maybe flowers or other piranhas? And it'd probably look better if Mario was closer to the wall too.


Now the garden maze game needs some touching up

it's pretty empty except for walls and enemies. Maybe add some decorations or have different ground tiles for different places?
Also if you want I can help you to generate a random maze in MMF2. Just drop me a pm and I'll teach you 8)

Hah those are 2 of the very first ones I made and I haven't gone back to them in a while, explains why they're drab, but good ideas! I'll touch them up at some stage.

As for random maze, well that'd be awesome but i'm using MMF1 ;_;
