| QUOTE (Pip @ Sep 13 2009, 05:28 PM) | and is coverage for any injury a bad thing?
also, don't bring up the "long lines" thing, because if you're really sick or hurt, you'll get in and not have to wait |
But what about things that aren't immediately urgent? I know a Canadian woman who needed a tripply bypass surgery, but because she wasn't in immediate danger of dieing, she was put on a six month waiting list. She had to come to America to get treatment earlier, where she was told that if he had waited, she would have died. Plus, healthcare is expensive. How can the Government pay for these new programs if they have no money? They're already running on deficit, printing money to get by. We can hardly fund the programs we already have, such as medicare, medicade, or social security. It's all going bankrupt, and it's not going to hold on much longer unless we start getting actual money. Without money to actually fund the health care, how will the doctors and nurses get paid for their services? Oftentimes there just aren't enough people to provide the healthcare needed on the Government's watch, even to people in immediate need.We just don't have the funds to do anything right now.

for the money thing- taxes would be slightly increased, but not more than the health care rates we'd already be paying
And I would think triple bypass surgery would be an urgent thing
