The duck, slide, and jump glitch

In most of the major engines (and most games that don't use premade engines) and even in Super Mario World, if you duck while holding Right (or Left) and keep jumping, you'll keep going indefinitely even while you're ducking. I think this looks ugly and unrealistic, even if Mario games aren't exactly the epitome of realism. Normally, when you duck, you should slide and slow to a halt. I think that the ducking code should prohibit ducking if the player is holding Left or Right, like in Super Mario Bros. 3. What do you think?

This is just me, but i liked doing the duck jump.

Jump ducking made the game easier to aviod tigh spaces and avoiding many types of enemies.

Duck jumping is an essential part of the 2D Mario gameplay. It's like removing the ?-blocks.

YOU HAVE TO BE A MAN IN ORDER TO DUCK JUMP WITH PRECISION.

Trying to beat an entire game whilst only Duck Jumping is amazing.

especially when you have to solve puzzles where you need to do it (small gaps etc.)

I never knew that was even a glitch. It oesn't matter to me (but I still use it).

Maybe sometime I'll do a level that forces you to do this!

That defeats the purpose of doing it through a whole level because you're a badass.

If it's only one or two parts then okay

Probably a decent part of the level.
