1. QUADRATIC FORMULA CALCULATOR [9/18/09]

In my egotistical, hodgepodge quest to become an employee of the Valve Corporation, I will have to learn and do more than ever before. I think MFGG's input is really valuable for that, so I'm going to make my learning interactive.

I'll be posting a lot of different things in here as I go along, and this thread will be extended to the new General Chat after this iteration of the board shuts down.

Expect to see a lot of content itt, from hello world programs to some art to forays into the world of 3d modeling! Also, expect to see the quality of the stuff itt improve. That's my expectation of it, at least.

This thread will die. A lot. It will come back a lot, too. Like Optimus Prime but with even more ****ing for attention from the fans.

Just a bit of advice, I wouldn't post any of your work in here. If you're wanting a position as an employer, I would either protect your work first, then post it, because you never know, you might want to show it in your port, when you submit in a resume into Value.


A lot of people steal work, I'm not saying anyone on MFGG does, but mainly most people do.

Start with Hello World, then make some useful Calculators that use the Console, then begin using SFML or some other Multimedia Library for Graphical Applications and 2D Games, then switch to using DirectX for 3D Game Programming(You'll need to learn to use the Windows Libraries), then make a full mod with Source. That's the path I would take. Slowly working your way up so you can learn more. I think that's actually the path many Game Developers take. BTW, Source Mods are written in C++, so all of that previous learning won't go to waste.
