VisualBoy Advance problem

I can't really play Madden 2006 on my VisualBoy Advance emulator because while the game boots and runs properly, it doesn't show any in-game graphics, like the coin toss, scoreboard, and most importantly, the playbooks. I tried fooling around with some settings (no luck), using No$GBA (same problem), and using BoycottAdvance (didn't boot at all). Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I'm sorry if emulator troubleshooting is considered a naughty thing to talk about on MFGG. Please no debate on the merits and evils of emulation and ROMs - or questions on why anyone would actually want to play a four-year-old football game with bad graphics (a brief wave of nostalgia is the answer). It has nothing to do with the MFGG Football, either.

Madden 2007 has the same problem. I've already tried.

Every game I've ever tried has worked with VBA, except for Madden 2006 and Madden 2007, which both result in graphics problems. And I did try a different version of the game.
