So I'm actually giving a **** about completing a fangame.

I'm trying to recreate the idea I had previously, so still working on the Peach thing. Trouble is, I can't seem to make another Peach that I'm happy with, and I have a few difficulties spriting her.

So instead, I took the art that I was happy with, and basically squashed it a bit (trimmed it down by about 25%), as I was told that the old one was too big. Anyways, here's the comparison, the one on the left being the one I plan to use.

I'd like criticism and opinions on how to improve it, but please keep these things in mind:

- I'm trying to keep the head, as it's the only one I made that feels like it fits her personality.

- Trying to keep it small, so she isn't taking up half the screen with her height.

- Trying to keep the dress fairly 2d, as a 2.5d background was difficult to make. v.v

So the new peach looks much better, however some of the lines look fairly wonky. (the button-esk thing on her dress)

looks pretty good,
i understand why she has the bump in the back of her dress, but i think her upper torso should be moved to the left a couple pixels?
or maybe it just doesnt seem to be at the same angle as the rest of her?

Yeah, I sorta fudged up a few. I was most worried about the hands, as it took me several retries, and it still looks kinda bleh. I'll see what I can fix. Can you also elaborate on how the button is wonky? My only guess is that there isn't a thick outline between the gold and the blue.

If I moved it any further left, it would look incredibly awkward. :S

Instead, I tried moving the bottom torso to the left. It actually came out looking a bit better.


Thanks for the help. I'll see what I can fix. I know I probably shouldn't focus too much on the graphics, but it's only one character (at least that's what I think . . . >.>).

That, and the outline just seems a tad mishapen to me. Maybe just a tad more circular?

Overall, it's quite good, but there are some problems.
- She seems to lean a bit too much to the left. I think it's the placement of her upper body that makes it look like that.
- The hands are different sized.
- Her mouth looks...strange. I can't really tell what's wrong with it, but it may or may not be because of the "black seperation line" between the lips. I'm not sure.

I believe I've addressed most of the issues presented so far, so here's an update:

- Shape of the gem on her chest has been changed.
- The lower torso has been shifted to the left a bit.
- Hand sizes are a bit more consistent, and less bulky.
- Thicker outline on the bottom (I'll reedit it later, because I just looked at it now as of posting this, and it looks weird. xD)
- Lip color slightly changed.

Why don't you just resize it in photoshop my friend? that would make it a hell of alot easier for you.

Because I'd rather not make it look like a resize. And upon doing the remake, I actually like the smaller one better. :S

I think I screwed up the color of the hills (darker goes in the back, right?) but I'm a bit lazy and don't really feel like going through the trouble to change the colors.

It could just be me, but:
-I don't think Peach and the goomba fit in with the background and the ground.
-The ground doesn't look like it goes with the background.
-Peach seems to be too big compared to the Goomba.
-The newer clouds are better.

Kinda what I said. By don't fit in, do you mean that they appear to be in different styles (which I'm aware of), or they just don't mesh well together?

Additionally, the goomba's a bit small because I tried to follow it proportionally to the actual Mario universe.
