Congrats to those who won comp 168. Since no one made a new one, and I did win the sub sprite comp (for smilies) I'll go and make this.

In M&L:SS, we saw traditional enemies with a bean theme.
In M&L:PiT we saw them as Shroobs.
And in M&L:BiS, we saw them Fawful'd.

So whats the theme? To make the next M&L enemies and to show their theme.

Maybe Boos have attacked the kingdom leaving possessed goombas and koopas to attack, As seen here.
Or maybe a shadowy curse has awaken from underground releasing shadow foes? You decide. Be creative with it, the enemies don't have to look 100% like they normally do with slight changes.

Rules-
-Since the theme is based on M&L, you'll need at least one overworld and battle pose IF you do one pose. If you have enough animations for it to be useful in anyway then you can do either or.
-The style itself does NOT have to be any of the M&L styles.
-No edits
-You can have a custom enemy that fits your theme, but only if you have a traditional enemy to make it fit the vibe.
-Have fun with it.


This ends at the end of September.


Edit- For those still not getting it-
It's not that complicated. All you have to do is make enemies for a new M&L game. Each game had enemies that tied in with the main villain in some way. All you have to do is make enemies that are themed to a villain. It can be pre existing, or made up (as long as it relates to mario).

I'll enter, thanks for making.

You should propably add to the rules that you should keep it small and useful (not too many colors) cause some still get it wrong.

Also, when you say overworld and battle, can I make my overworld in the style of a platformer? or does it have to be traditional ML overworld?

Pretty much. I'd like people to do a few enemies so that the theme really shows, but I know people will complain, so it's optional.

The best theme would be targeted towards something existing in the Mario world already, or something that makes sense and is believable.

Idea is a little bit hard to understand.
So, we basically have to make new enemies or boss in any style. Then we have to make a world for it, and at last make a story about it?

I really don't see how this would be a problem. Just copy the first post into a new topic and carry on from there. A few people may have to re-post entries or whatever, but it really wouldn't be much of an issue.
