I tried to post this yesterday, but the forums went down =\.

Small surprise entry for minigame competition #50. I had to work until last minute on this project, as I ended up fairly busy since I started.
I know there are a few collision glitches and such. It should not affect the boss gameplay.
I know some things in the game aren't exactly, or perhaps, even close to what it is in the original. I didn't have the time nor the resources to make it perfect.

"Simplest" platform engine

I could have sworn there was a topic for it on MFGG, but I dunno where it went...
I didn't make my own plateform engine cause I always end up messing it up...

I enjoyed this! It felt much like Yoshi's Island, and although its simple and quick, yet fun.

If you didn't make the engine it's disqualified.

Sorry, those are the rules.

This is the "engine" I used.

I expect I made enough changes.

I personally couldn't have told this was made with the "simplest" engine, if you haven't told so.

That's saying much since I made that engine for Simoneister and then it somehow got spread.

actually the rules are you can not use premade work, scripts, engines or equal. But I am going to assume you did not know this and accept the game anyway. But keep this in mind for the next time.

Ask someone to teach you about Fastloops in Game Maker. They were designed for Clickteam Products, but you could make a code version in GML.

ACTUALLY, premade scripts are allowed, as long as they aren't the thing defining the game.
Let's say somebody makes a platformer, then this guy can use a textbox script or something. If someone makes a text adventure, you can not use a textbox script.

If premade scripts wouldn't be allowed, then technically people wouldn't be allowed to use GM, MMF (or MechaSource) or whatever to enter the competitions. You yourself used that one physics engine in some of your entries, for example.

idk I thought it said not to allow premade work to avoid Hello's Engine entrances

Premade engines are not allowed. An engine, in that sense would be something like Hello's Engine.

but he did use an engine in this case.

But yeah we're getting the discussion a bit far from the game itself. It's allowed and that's all there needs to be said. It was a smashing game, although the boss could've used a bit more variation.
