Press f1 for the came info. I forgot to include that you can press control to shoot fireballs or iceballs when getting those power-ups and hold it to run! I switched engines due to the fact I can't code and I don't have the free time to learn it. Oh well. This new peice has five playable awesome levels, and one boss. BOY WAS IT HARD CONVERTING MY BOSS TO WORK WITH THIS ENGINE. I got used to Dee's engine and now I'm loving it. SO here are a few screenies and a demo: Same storyline, better levels, better engine, better design. YOU MUST GIVE ME A HIGHER SCORE THAN 2 XD Demo: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jxwdur__ For comments that say: this is just another dee clone, blah blah. Well I don't care. I think their may be less Dee clones than Hello clones.

Nice timing. Anyway, directly to you, DeeY. I thought your engine was complicated at first, but when I actually gave it a try, I found it to be very interesting.
For some reason, I was trying F9, which failed, so I used "Print screen"
And for the people who are complaning about smb3 graphics, complain on someone else. I'm just a learner. These were the graphics supplied for this engine. So as a beginner, I'm going to use what's given to me. Sorry if the graphics bother you, but they don't bother me. Super mario world graphics bother me.
Google (lunar magic, smwcentral, or etc. I Mario world modded for years XD)

Basically you guys want to see different graphics. Blah blah blah. Well I am learning, so I'm not caring about anything said in that post. I can't code in game maker and I can't make an engine. Sure I tried, but ah well. I don't have any money to spend on things like Multimedia fusion or games factory 2 which are exactly the same thing and I'm learning the mechanics any way.
Its not Hello's engine, (the poor guy is hated D: But his engine is horrible though.)
I think I remember something now, quote:
People around here hates smb3 graphics"
I forgot who told me that, but eh, your advice had not been forgotten. I either gotta find a free program or something...

So you're just going to shove off that statement? You realize that your game in that case would probably get lost under the millions of other SMB3 games. SMB3 graphics are pretty and all, but they get so damn boring, and it's not that hard to pick different ones.

Somewhat contradictory, imo. If you're using DeeY's engine to learn (eg. aren't just editing rooms and text boxes and crap.), then good. But if you're resorting to use it as just a level editor, then you honestly aren't much better than many of the Hello Engine users.

You're giving up too easily. Coding takes some getting used to, and once you have down some of the basic commands, coding is actually pretty simple. It just takes practice, like any other skill. If you're just going to use DeeY's engine as a level editor for the future, then I honestly have less respect for you.
| QUOTE | | Its not Hello's engine, (the poor guy is hated D: But his engine is horrible though.) |
It's not that it's bad, it's just that it quite literally has every thing a Mario platformer could ever need, so Game Maker noobs are in ecstasy over the fact that they can "make" Mario fangames with absolutely no effort. If anything, I think the physics were intended, just to see if anyone would actually edit them. :S
If you intend to use DeeY's engine, at least do something with it. Don't just edit rooms. Actually look at the code every now and then to see if you can add anything.

I read all of the posts and I agree with most of the reponses. I did read over DeeY's code and he uses ALOT of variables kind of like I did in rpg maker xp.
(This post was alot longer and better, but the mouse on this computer made me lose all of my date three times!)
I was switching graphics anyway, but I'll have find Mario elements such as Mario skid, etc etc.
(Thanks for the level design compliment. Like I said, the boss was nearly impossible to convert from my old engine. In fact, its still bad.)
Edit: continuing:
Overall though, using a premade is just a lazy act to same die, and don't say you disagree. It is lazy; however, I did mention that I barely have free time to learn code.

I am. It may not show in the above demo, but if but on closer inspection, It will comply a different approach. Anyway, I do like cutscenes, so there will be more them.
Anyway,
I probably worded my sentences wrong in that other post, which resulted in the feedback from Soiyeruda. And I agree with everything that said in there. I do realize that I gave up to easily; however, I am working to resolve a solution.
First of all, I am going to get rid of the smb3 feel to it. I see what you mean, there are like over 9000 smb3 games. But as I stated above, graphic changing, gameplay changing (I am going to have mini games in the game (: ) and etc, this is going to take alittle time though.

I'm working on the psychics as we speak. It's like everything is slippery. SO I'm going to see if I can give Mario a better stop time. (I hate icey levels in every single levels)
And lol, the red coins made my younger bother flick me off D:
