Game Genie question

As you may know, I've written many (over 60) strategy guides for GameFAQs.com. I'd like some help verifying something with one my guides, for Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing for the Super NES.

I found a list of Game Genie codes on a couple of different online sources for this game, which included some strange codes like GANKXZYA. I included the list of codes in my guide, but I couldn't get them to work using the SNES9X 1.51 or ZSNESW emulators (I don't have a Game Genie or PAR device for my real Super NES). I know it's not an in-game password, since the password prompt doesn't have vowels. Is this a valid game enhancement code? Any help would be highly appreciated. I'll even give you credit in my guide if you want me to.

Actually, I figured out the problem - it was a cheat for the NES version of the game. I'll fix that in my guide soon.
