Why would you do that?

i got a few questions to ask

1. is it just the people with windows internet explorer that can see the hacked page?
2. can't dazz hack his own website (stupid question dont bother answering)
3. any other methods i can try exept refreshing? i did that loads of times

i hope it comes back ive been spending my spriting days mostly downloading sprites for my own sheets as a base.

This is getting supid now, its been down for weeks!

Dazz hasn't paid for his domain so the host replaced it with an ad until that happens.

No there is no way around it unless you know of a DNS which haven't updated their redirect yet.

So are the early reports in this thread of Dazz paying/fixing the issue false, or is his host/registrar charging him a ransom fee on top to get a high-traffic domain name back?

I think it's the "ransom fee", because I can access tSR with the hosts file modification / DNS redirection.

Random Talking Bush, the reason why you can access it by directly connecting to the domain ip is because spriters-resource.com is a domain redirection.

Well, I was just saying that the server's still accessible, but not through the Spriters-Resource.com domain, so tSR's still online in a way.

But, yeah, you're right.

If he was behind on his regular hosting fees, I would expect the entire server to be throttled. But hey I don't know how his host operates.

My original guide had some serious errors that caused issues, here is the fixed one.

As long as TSR does not change its IP, you should be able to connect.

And if the hosts files does not exist, there is a fix.

Guys, the hosts file modification DOES work. You'll have to run whatever Text-editing file you use to edit it with as Administrator, though.

Still though, I'd much rather the site actually be working correctly as opposed to messing with my computer to make it work :/

And it can't be just the IP thing that allows access because some members can still log in with no problem.

It's already been paid by Dazz. It'll take some for it to come back, just wait. And, by the way, that kind of response wasn't needed.

Some people are saying he has, some people are saying he hasn't. Anyone have a definitive answer here?

Hey, I found another way to get onto the real site. At first, the fix I tried earlier worked-once only did it do anything. So I just decided to wait and got on that drshnaps, or sprite sheet database and saw TSR was an affiliate. I was just curious So I clicked on it. It took me directly to TSR without any problems. I don't know if it'll work for everyone, but I've been able to get on TSR for 6 days now w/out any errors. Hope this helps
