First off, my router: RangePlus Wireless Router WRT110
DHCP server setup enabled
WEP security enabled with encryption
MAC filter disabled
AP Isolation disabled
Frame burst enabled
No access restrictions
All other settings on default
My internet: Comcast 1MBPS
My modem: Scientific-Atlanta Webstar Cable

When there are two laptops (all Vista, btw) connected to our router everything's ok, but the moment a third computer logs in (no matter which one) the router completely drops the internet down to "Limited Access" for everyone, which is basically no internet access at all. It stays this way for up to two to four minutes, then finally fixes itself and full access is granted once again.

I can't find an answer to this anywhere. It seems I am the only person in the world with this problem, even among other users of this very product. I was once told to go into my network settings and disable IP v6, so I did, and to make a static IP, which I did. No change.

Halp

My only suggestion is to see if there is a firmware update available for the router.

If your router connected to a modem?

If so, let the modem handle the DHCP server and turn off the routers DHCP.

Thats what I ended up doing at Mums anyway, and it seems to work reasonably well.

Got the latest when I installed everything.

I'll try this, thanks.

Well, I can't get into any modem settings for some reason (or no reason). Wut. So I tried enabled DHCP through my "manage network connection" properties, disabled DHCP on my router, and.. no internet access.

Right now I have a static IP running through my Vista network settings, and DHCP disabled for my router, and I'm still having the same problem in the OP. I'll have to call Comcast about the modem settings I guess, but the router is not from them so they won't be able to help me after that. Hnnnghh

try turning off the modem and accessing the router's setup page
then kill the router and enter the modem's settings page
