Anywho, I've been very curious about this comic. The idea of combining the comic, show, and game universes is an interesting one, but I can't help but feel like it would be juggling too many things at once. The cast of all three are big as it is, so cbining them just sounds like a giant conglomeration of chaotic and thinly spread plots.

To it's credit though, I feel like the comic has the best portrayal of the game characters because the diologue isn't cheesey and there's more thought put into their personality. If only the games used followed suit.

I'm not really sure what to think of it. Personally, Id love to see a whole new take on the characters starting from scratch with only the vital characters. The rest of the cast could be filled in by new characters that will play lesser roles and generally keep the spotlight on Sonic and Tails with asides featuring Robotnick. That way the plot doesn't need to be and overblown mish mash of conflicting characterizations.

Yeah, the cast is overly huge. In the beginning it was just Sonic, Tails, Sally, Antoine, Rotor, and Bunnie against Robotnik and Snively. And it was good, if hokey.

Then we got Knuckles. And it was great.

Then we got the Chaotix and all of the supporting Echidna characters. And all of the main characters' parents. And new characters. And new villains. And people said "Whoa, now."

But we got more characters. And meanwhile Sega was expanding the games' characters and wanted them in, so the cast got insanely large.

Luckily, Ian has whittled it down a bit. He killed off a bunch of supporting characters, pushed some out of the limelight except in cameos, and got a second book to support the main one. If you want to check it out, it's really in a renaissance right now, so it's a good time to do it.

Oh, and don't even get me started on all that timeskip bull****

I actually prefer a lot of the comic characters to the actual game characters. I'll take Bunnie and Rotor over Blaze and Marina any day.

BuT those characters were there from the beginning, and were also in the SATAM series.

Yeah, their designs are a lot more distinct. Anyone notice how all the game characters can all be broken down into the exact same shape structure?

Well, that's fine, but the comic (and Rotor) was around before Tails was established as the inventor. He was still the tagalong kid. And Sally was around before Amy as the love interest, so...

Look, if the Archie characters are so great, why aren't they in an official Sonic game?

Cause Sega has an established cast and Archie is an American market. They have no say as to who gets in the games.
It would be dumb to shoehorn the Archie characters into the games. They just don't fit in that established world.

If the game characters are so terrible, why does Sega keep adding more?
