NCFC 2009 - Our Booth, We have host and webdesigner

NCFC Registrations have opened.

We need two important things to get our booth up:
- A host
- A Webdesigner


Last year, kremling made a webpage for us, I am not sure if he's still here or if we still have access to his work. If so, we can use that as a base and work from there, otherwise not.

Sign up here if you want to make the CFP NCFC web page, or if you have a host where we can put it on.


Note: If you make the webpage you can use this topic to request anything you'd want to have graphics wise (as far as material from the game goes) and someone will do it.

I could make a page. Maybe even in Flash, if I get that thing working again. For the graphics I could use some sprites of the Finished Graphics Topic if it's okay, and just tell me what to put on it (Story, Features, Screenies...).

Coolio.

Things that pop into my mind right now in terms of categories on the site would be:

Welcoming page
Screenshots
Download
Videos
About
Story
Demo Walkthrough (will available on the last day of NCFC)


Those are in no particular order, (unless the order in which they popped into my head counts).

I say to include these would be a minimum, but make it open end as far as you can, in case we want to add other stuff and maybe even keep the site up after NCFC has ended.

I was working as a webdesigner all summer long, but I don't have the time to code one with TYPO3.

If anyone's willing to make the site: I'd provide the graphics.

Okay, I finsihed the preloader and basic animations now... just a question, where are some more screenshots and videos? I found only 2 screenies... :<

Then use those two for now.

Should be enough for testing purposes, as I don't think the "real" screenshots need to be in this until NCFC.

Really it wouldn't help to give you any other screenshots because they'd need to be replaced later anyway. (The current version of the engine isn't finished.)

If you need more random screenshots though, I'm on AIM and can give you some.

This is sounding to be good so far, if you guys need help (graphics and art wise) i am more than willing to help

Well, we've needed BGs for some time now.

What backgrounds do we need?

Sky levels, ice levels, I believe the demo has an ice cave maze type are as well. We need a ruin/castle background as well, and something for a free fall battle in said ruin.

Heh, I'll leave it to somebody else. as It is I have trouble matching the style :P

Oooh, I'll make the bgs!

Gimme a list of all themes and sizes.

Also, color restrictions

Like I said, right now I don't think we have any, at least none that I know of. We're having a meeting today, if you want, you can stop in so we can figure out how we want to go with it.

What will change:
- Eyecandy (stuff not just standing there, but popping in)
- About page not empty (what should I write there?)
- More screenies and videos, of course
- Music (maybe a calm music, maybe also E. Gadd's theme for menu and everything, Title Musicfor the "Press Space" Screen.) and SFX
- Just improving everything (New menu buttons for Story and About, Download button not odd-looking...)

I'm just posting to get advice now, since I can't change it that easily if everything is almost done.

EDIT: The bug with the loading screen, where you can see the blue rectangle on the lower border, is fixed now.

It's a great start. Maybe clean up the animations for Mario and Luigi? Luigi seems to jump around a bit. Not only that but the pixels seem to randomly go from x2 to x1. But yeah, my main concern is that a lot of stuff looks oddly resized and uneven. If need be, have different screenshots on seperate pages so you can have them larger.


Still though, it's a good start.


Edit- It kinda looks like you edited some of the sprites. Mainly when they are standing with the blue objects. Their left legs (our right) looks odd.

1.: Yeah, that will be improved, the worst thing is the zooming from Flash which makes it look like something is great when zoomes in, but looking crappy when on normal size :<

2.: Yeah, since I couldn't find a good holding standing pose (wasn't it on the sheet, or did I just overlook it?), I just made one quickly in Flash by copying the leg. I will fix that, too by making it not in Flash (or finding it on the sheet :P)

Are you going to be adding sides to the DS?

As it stands it looks really weird that it's just cut off at the sides with mario and luigi running out.

Since this is just the swf, if the proportions of the browser window don't fit, you see the "outside area".
In the page with the flash embedded this won't happen.

I'm blown away, really great stuff. Better than anything I could have expected^^

One thing: The video is on top of the "back" speech balloon.
The other graphical things (like the video sticking out on top) I suppose will be fixed, yes?

Btw, everything seems to be quite pixelated. Is there a chance of using interpolation or something to make it look smoother?

Anyway, this is really great so far. Keep going.
