Here it looks like they actually put thought into things

The actual show looks like they just made up random **** and went with it

(talking about artistically, not the plots, scripts, etc)

Agreed. And again, you can make that argument about basically any series pilot, since there usually IS more thought put into it.

True also, but usually the transition from pilot to show isn't THAT bad

The show could of at least used normal zones like they did here, but toned down on details more

In one episode they referred some random weird ass place as "Marble Zone," which had no resemblance to the actual zone. :s
