The notes and melody are pretty decent for both of them, but you need to find better instruments, and both songs need serious work. Try messing with the instruments first, then add different bass lines, and try to add in some volume dynamics. Also, try to make them a bit less repetitive; it's mostly a 20-second loop for both.

I'd say it's a nice attempt, and a good melody, but not really much more than that.

Really, if you made the volumes more dynamic I would love this so much.

Yeah, I spent about 30 min on each of these songs lol so not co much work put in.

But I do plan on working on them. What does it mean to make the volume dynamic? Also, why do you think it needs better instruments? Whats wrong with the current ones?

(I think I used the fact that there will be vocals as an excuse to make it more repetitive.)

Also, an older song I mad a couple of months ago (Yes, I know that 1: I need to add better bass to this and 2: I need to make the drums more interesting.)

Downloaded Snow (I'll do the other ones later/in a bit).

I like it, bro. I get this old retro feeling. Sounds like it came straight out of the SNES. Also feels cold but it could do even better with some more wind in the background (imo, it's totally up to you!). The SNESness is also a bad thing since the instruments suffer a grainy/muffled issue.

It's okay. Pretty much all the samples in this song grated on my speakers. Could do with some cleaner ones. It'll sound great then!

Thanks! And if you think the sound quality is bad, its probably because I have to record it like this
1) I have Mixcraft, but the trial expired so I cant mix it down to an mp3, only project files
2) I have a double sided audio-cord (both sides are capable of going into a Laptop Headphone jack
3) I have audacity, which can record.
4) I plug the double sided audio cord into both the headphones jack and the michrophone jack
5) I hit record on audacity and then play the song in mixcraft
6) I now have the song in Audacity, which i can use to mix down to an mp3
Unfortunatly this makes into a mono track and slighty reduces sound quality. :C
oh well, atleast i get to save 65$

Oh, and Fear (instrumental track) is finished. I'll try to get the vocals up by tommorow.

Haha, I remember doing that kinda thing. Holding a mic to a speaker and recording with windows sound recorder. You've probably heard it before but Modplug Tracker (or Open Tracker(?) both are the same) is a great and totally free music creation program, exports MP3s too.

Just testing out the lyrics (Dont worry, when I sing this seriously it wont sound as bad and sloppy... hopefully.)

Haha wow, these are awesome. The graininess of the instruments reminds me of various electronica bands (Toxic Avenger, MSTRKRFT to name a few).


Other than that they sound like backdrops to a rap song lol.

so i decided to make something in a different genre. im making it for this one girl i like. still a heavy wip and needs vocals. im calling it 'she knows.' youll understand it once i get in the vocals
