I've actually seen a few. Only one I can recall right now was this Paper Mario RPG that was limited to 2d platform movement. Either way, it imitated the battle system fairly well, including action buttons, allies, etc.

And like Datt said, it's actually not that hard. If anything, you could probably code a basic battle system within a few days. If you want a quick example of an RPG-styled battle system, my Cardiator remake has elements of a turn-based battle system, and at most, probably took about three days just for the basics (and that's including enemy AI).

Also its an Rpg similair in a way to super smash bros(you basically kick ass while following the story. It's weird because you've never heard of it and it's avoiding overused cliche storylines.)

You guys obviously never heard of blizz-abs. If you want, i can send you the demo although its not done. GAMES take time to complete, especially when working with a powerful script like this.
PM if you want it. You'll have to see for yourself the power of ruby.

The only thing bad about demos in rpg maker blizz-abs is that if I were to add in another
script; it may corrupt your old save file causing you to start entirely over. Even if you did like the game, you probably wouldn't want to start over.
But I'll try to get the demo up soon anyway.

Edit: Make sure you have RTP-standard installed and then click on the orange sun-like symbol to play. I don't know if it works on vista. So sorry, but I hate vista anyway.

You see, I had a bad experience with vista. I was working on an 8 page report for my science class on a brand new vista computer (my aunts)

It was pretty slow in loading and almost nothing was compatible with it. Anyway, it crashed and I had to do the entire report over D: Microsoft word didn't even recover it.

it doesn't. not sure what happened. But you're right about the not making any sense part.


Vista crashes wayyy to much compared to XP. It runs very slowly and very little programs are compatible with it.

Windows 7 should make up for that (according to what I hear)

I didn't really take a liking to the story. I also wonder, how the is this like super smash brothers? The first and second level of Time Star #1 is severely flawed (Mario and/or Luigi is unable to jump far enough).

I have to praise what you did with RPG Maker XP but I have to question the framerate, 60 would look alot better.

Yeah, just buy a newer version of it (pref. Home Premium) and it should work fine/better than XP.

I fixed the bridges and everything. Here. this should get you through the rest of
the game. Thanks for playing.

It lagged ALOT. So I worked on that too. IF you still have problems, please

And the maps don't look that good... But it's one of your first games, so it's okay.

Oh, and there's actually a way to make your RPGM XP game compatible with computers that doesn't have the RTP. It makes the filesize a lot bigger though, because you need to import the whole RTP to your project and then deactivate the dependence on it on the editor. Theres ways like importing only the RTP resources you used, but yeah, that's more time consuming.

Also, afaik, just the lastest version of RPGM XP works on vista. Every other one has a load of horrible bugs laugh3.gif

I think I'm using rpg maker xp 1.02 or something like that.

I'll have to increase my mapping skills as I grow better.

It's different because it using a different battle system prior to most Mario games.
The script: Blizz-advanced battle system : )

I'm going to do my best to generate more speed into this game. Also, don't forget to
press "A" to display your hotkeys.

Then press escape, go to the hotkey menu and assign items and special attacks to
the numbers. Mario and Luigi will eventually have different attacks.

In this demo, Luigi knows how to summon Yoshi. I was going to put in flying when Mario and Luigi gets a feather, but my sprites aren't right (although I know how to make them fly. Man I wish I had spiting talent)


Also, if the game doesn't seem that enjoyable to you, that's okay. I'm working on this alone, so you know what to expect. In the demo, there are also 2 Bowser duels.

The final/ 3rd Bowser duel before he joins forces with you; I'll give him the Magikoopa teleport ability.[/B][B][COLOR=red]

open the demo. Play until you get to the cutscene where he appears, which is a little after the Squid boss. XD

I created a test boss of him and allowed my friends to play him @ level 100. (for lulz)
They told me he was too hard D: So I have to down him to where you have to be at least level 40 to stand a chance.

The boy may be entirely custom orrrrrr probably someone you know.

Update:

After you beat the short chapter, Birdo's revenge; Mario will gain a new attack.

Also, you Luigi's Yoshi summoning powers. They are allowed during the second Bowser duel.
