Broken Gcn Controllers, Not physically, but still frustrating.

I take it you're not holding in a direction when you start up a game? The old N64 controllers used to have a warning about holding in a direction when you start as it registers it as the "home" position, not sure about Gamecube controllers.

I think GCN has the same thing, too. I probably think this is happening because controllers usually fall on the floor, frontside down, usually causing the analog stick to move in a different direction.
Oh when it STARTS, eh? I never moved the analog stick when I started it up. But still, I don't think I saw this "home" theory thing in the GCN manual, just the N64 one.
Another thing, usually you can fix this whole thing by taking out the plug of the controller and putting it back in, (Turning the Wavebird on or off if you have one) but usually it never works, and the best remaining setup you'll have to rely on is the 'slip' thing, and that's not good, especially if you're playing Wind Waker. >.<

Over time, the plastic inside the analog mechnism wears down, letting the stick fall to the side a little bit rather than staying erect. Can't easily fix it either. |
Yeah and apparently adjustment will fix it so I think it may be worth a trip to a Nintendo repair shop. Apparently if you can find one it is free. I've only been to like one in my whole life though and it was for NES problems.
|
Adjustment usually isn't enough, the plastic actually gets worn away, so some parts within the analog compartment need to be replaced.
|
Well I ASSUMED that was under the definition of adjustment but it was a tad bland so at the most you'll pay a couple of bucks.
