I know that my download for "Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!" is coming soon and I also know that I need the Wii Shop Channel to claim it. Please note that I really don't want to update by Nintendo because I am scared that it will brick my Wii. So what is the safest way to get the Shop Channel back? I don't care if I have to lose my Homebrew Channel, I just want it back.

Here is some info on my Wii:
- I already has the 1.0.5 edition of the Homebrew Channel. I am aware that this version will not be deleted by the update
- My Wii is currently on version 4.1U
- What I mainly do on the HBC is emulators and Gecko OS. Just in case you need to know how much I hack the Wii

you could just install the .wad file of it

but updating to 4.2 using nintendo's updater works fine, all it basically does is remove your HBC.

As Captian Flame Guy said, all it does is remove the HBC and any homebrew on your system. I updated to 4.2 without any bricking or error messages, and it just deleted my HBC. If you don't care that much about homebrew I'd suggest updating instead of keeping the HBC and using the Shop Channel installer.

Guys, the latest Homebrew Channel(1.0.5) shouldn't be deleted by Update 4.2.

4.2's upgrader is buggy and can ruin your boot2 code on unhacked wiis (= brick)

so i advise against it
