Your opinion on this topic is stupid, whereas mine is fact.

Adding tripping to a competitive game is like giving harder tests to people in the same class depending on how high their grade is.

It's a deliberate move to make everyone equal regardless of their skill or motivation and an attempt to sugar-coat reality and make people who are obviously worse at something feel like they've actually accomplished something notable.

tl;dr, political correctness doesn't belong in video games any more than it does in school or anywhere else for that matter.

how many matches can you remember losing due to tripping

i remember quite a few
but it was because of the opponent tripping, not myself

its like a randomly set dodge

I remember none of these matches.
I also don't remember a single game that I won because somebody else tripped.

WHAT I remember though is that I lost in 15 minute brawl because of tripping, but yeah, that's not competative anyway...

Also, people are playing competative poker, where you get random cards dealt, so yeah, I don't see how adding a random element to a game destroys the competativeness of it.

Sure if tripping ONLY happened to the good players or something, then it would be a bit unfair, but it happens to everyone.
Plus a good player doesn't run around aimlessly anyway and spends more time in the air than on the ground. I can't even remember the last time I tripped.

Oh I HATED noki bay

Felt like a level that they threw in the game at the last minute

that one blooper surfing level in Sunshine was annoying too imo
