Wow. So many people use money as a pleasing tool.

As for me, I choose to think of money as means.

The means.
Yes you can get stuff from it, but there are things that money cannot buy.

Love, respect and friendship come to mind.

For me, money is an item used to obtain stuff I need/want. In a time like this, though, it's more of a pain than an usable item. Seriously, these days everything costs twice as much and we only get half as much money as we used to. This is sad.

It could be argued that option 2 and 3 are similar, as money behaves like the means in both, I just wanted to "divide" it in 'using money for something productive' and 'using money in a hedonist way'.

The first one is way different, as people whose goal is money tend not to have any goal besides that, and as there's no limit to how much money you can receive if you place your efforts into it, it slowly becomes a vicious cycle where you use your earned money to get more money and so on.
