are you gonna tell me a little lag is enough to make you hate this game?

A "little" lag? The audio was bloody two-three seconds ahead of every action you took. The summon spells, some of which already took a good 10 seconds, dragged on so long that they could go for about half a minute.

As it were, the enemies already took a decent amount of time to take their turn and the lag only made this worse. Battles I recall wiping through in a good twenty minutes could drag on for almost an hour in the PSP version.

The PSX's CPU clock is 33mhz. The PSP's is 333mhz. It's a little over one hundred times the speed of the system the original game ran on.

The lag should not be there.

Furthermore, Disgaea was ported to the PSP as well, and it has similiar but even better graphics with more advanced effects, yet it runs perfectly.

Why is the port of FFT so bad ;_;

this happens all the time
ports are lent out to companies who can barely make a game themselves, and all the beta testing done is just to make sure it runs

wow that's amazing because mine didn't lag that bad at ALL. the worst of it was that the audio was a half second ahead of the action during battles tops and that was the ONLY lag I had...

I gotta agree here, it hasn't been released yet, but by the same token...all evidence points to a fantastic game.

THAT'S WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT SONIC '06 AND TWILIGHT PRINCESS

Anyway some examples of true masterpieces would be

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

For not only being the best Zelda game, but for also being on a GAME BOY and being the best Zelda game, and even though it's a "dream cop-out" if you get no deaths it's one of the most satisfying dream cop-out endings ever.

And even then it tells you pretty early that it's all a dream, you just don't know whose, or what will happen when they wake up, which kind of gives the game the sense that you might actually be responsible for killing an entire island of people. Damn.

Which brings me to

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Which happens to be my pick for number two on the top Zelda games list, for good reason. It's a dark, chilling tale, which captures the usually weak storytelling aspect of Zelda amazingly (it's not just the princess is captured by Ganon in this game). The best thing is that you actually do feel like you're affecting the lives of an entire country of people, and after you reset you realize how drastic these effects were at times, like the Anju/Kafei quest, and the family in Ikana.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

Of course. Outsourcing Metroid to a bunch of Texans was the best decision Nintendo made during the GameCube era. And now this. It combines all three awesome games into one big-ass, incredibly awesome span of adventure with the most beautiful controls you could ever wrap your hands around. Add great visuals, a great story, great boss fights, and a great soundtrack, and you have what's probably the best damn game ever made, next to...

Super Mario 64

I love this game. I love this game so much. This game was a revolution. There's no denying it. Tight controls, great gameplay, a huge set of moves and a variety of missions to complete, there's no denying that this game shaped the 3-D format of gaming for every generation to come. And nothing since then has quite captured the magic of seeing Mario in 3-D for the first time ever since.

--------------------
Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.
