Is it possible to change the plugin Windows Media Player uses for adding subtitles to the movie?

Because for some reason the plugin it uses right now can't make subs show up properly (It's called Haali Media Splitter), while the one used by Windows Media Player Classic (it uses DircetVobSub) works properly.

Try installing the CCCP(Combined Community Codec Pack) and see if changes anything for you.

I already have that installed.

It doesn't really have to do with codecs, I think.
It's just the subbing plugin not working like it should.

No, it really has nothing to do with codecs, but rather what comes with the pack. What I don't know is if you already had the up-to-date version installed, as Haali media splitter and VSFilter (DirectVobSub) both work together, using WMP or MPC-HC (or at least it seems so). The CCCP and coreAVC were the only things I installed to play videos after formatting, and I can play movies with subs just fine.

Well the weird thing is that it worked a few times (a couple of weeks ago), and then it suddenly stopped working.
