I need some help with my game, mini mario:puzzle panic. The minis walk around like in MVSDK:Minis march again, but, thing is, I cannot get them to jump up automatically if they run into a wall and theres empty space above. heres proof im making the game:

Here's some psuedo-code. You'll have to translate it to GML/D&D.
CODE
if colliding with wall in direction of Mini Mario
->if there is no collision above Mini Mario
->->Jump

Although if you really want to do Game programming, you really shouldn't ask for help unless you have absolutely no idea how to do it. Try thinking it through step-by-step first.

Try using something in the means of:
CODE
if collision_rectangle(bbox_right,bbox_top,bbox_right,bbox_bottom,obj_solid,1,1)
and not collision_rectangle(bbox_right+4,bbox_top-8,bbox_right+3,bbox_top-7,obj_solid,1,1)
{
//insert jump code here :)
}

Anyways I think mrmario is sorta new to Gamemaker so that might be hard for him. Although it wouldn't help to learn that.


Just do what Onilink posted in D&D.

You are overdue to switch to GML, then. Most people make the switch in 6 months to 1 year. Try learning GML, it really shouldn't be too hard.

O.K. I will try to dig through my PMs on yyg, I remember someone sending me a link to site for gml beginners.

Also I know message boxes and image alpha and stuff. Just not physics. S:

Also use the Help Manual thats in Gamemaker. It's actually pretty useful

I do. Occasionally. Not for GML though.

Also, it jusmps now, but VERY glitchy.

Im getting out the kinks now.
