I got this and I'm almost done with it, and in all honesty, its pretty disappointing. I didn't even hype this that much, I just don't like it. the RTS bits are pretty wonky and aren't much fun imo, the combat leaves a lot to be desired (Especially after Arkham Asylum's awesome combat system), and I just felt like the game was nothing like I exected. After playing the demo I expected a great adventure game with a metal theme, what I got was half that (The first half of the game is pretty basic action/adventure stuff), half boring RTS bits. The side missions are really not that fun and the game itself lacks polish. On the flipside, the game's art direction is awesome, the script is hilarious, and I love all the characters. I just wish that the actual game behind it was as good, instead of being mediocre.

I was quite disappointed with the overall gameplay, if only because it turned into an RTS without saying it would, and the general strategy for most maps was to take a single big push on each enemy merch booth. That said, the elements that weren't gameplay (ie. story, art, locations, soundtrack) all blew me away. The story was well written and the voice actors did their job perfectly (I didn't know Tim Curry did Doviculus so that was a lovely surprise when he did his first long monologue and realized who it was), and the music complimented the art style perfectly (and considering I just got into metal, it was somwhat of an education). The lowest points of the game for me was most of the Drowning Doom section (namely because I don't hit it off with artists like My Chemical Romance and the whole emo/goth style) and the herding metal beasts, because the parameters for what constitutes 'a ring' seemed shaky at best. Overall though, I loved the game considering how short it was.
Also, it was the only game to use Through the Fire and Flames to (semi) good effect and get away with it.
