.JAR files used to run on my computer, then I got windows 7.
At first my computer didn't know what to run my .JAR files as, so I went through my system directory and found java.exe. The files description was "Java™ Platform SE Binary". I'm pretty sure I am supposed to be running them with a java program with a description of "Java™ Platform Standard Edition" But I cant find it. Any suggestions?

add java to your PATH and then run the program like
java blah.jar
or javaw blah.jar

or just associate jar files with java/javaw.exe

In my java folder, there is only another folder called jre6. opening that, there is only two folders, bin and lib. there is no program in lib, and in bin there is a javaw.exe, but it doesn't work for my JAR files.

I can run Java files with the "Java Platform SE Binary", and I'm pretty sure that's the same thing as "Java Platform Standard Edition"

if java's being a homo just use the path to your java executable instead.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -jar jarname.jar

(replace with your real java.exe path.)

He explained that he has no Java.exe.

Which means you need to uninstall it and try again, because you should have that.
