Dean's list is looking less and less possible for me this year, but I'm still trying.

Japanese class isn't hard, per se, the teacher just marks people down for, like, everything. For example, there's an conversational portion for every test worth, like, 20~30% wherein she asks you question in Japanese and you answer them; seems simple enough, but when you're getting minus one point for every little "Um..." (because oh my god, that's an English word and you can't use English!), you start to wish that wasn't one of the segments on the test. We get our tests back, and if I even manage an A or A-, I look around the class and the only people who get higher are like, already fluent in Japanese and I don't even know why they're in the class.

Black Feminism class is just heavily dependent on papers, and while I'm not to bad at those, the teacher expects like graduate school level writing out of us or something. Oh, and she almost seems to pride herself on how few As she gives out. Not to mention she never really tells us what she wants in an essay, and if you've ever taken a good number of college-level classes that are heavily dependent on writing, then you'll know that every professor kind of has his/her own opinion on what constitutes a "good" paper. Seeing as we only have 3 papers during the year, and 1 term paper for our final, each individual assignment is very important, so that B- I got on the first one for not knowing all she wanted was quote-spam with little to no analysis is really going to hurt.

Genji class -- I'm not sure what grade I'm looking at. I got a B+ on the first assignment, but it looks like things are going uphill for me there. I'll just have to do exceptionally well on the final project, which I don't think will be too difficult.

And then there's Painting which I, like, can't get lower than an A- in considering my track record in, so I've got no complaints there. Plus me and the professor are like BFF.

IG = Icke godkänd (failed)

I got three As and a B in my spring term and I currently have three As this term.

Shame that the B bumped down my overall 3.92 GPA to a 3.89...
