I have swine flu

To be entirely honest, it's no worse than a bad cold to me (I'm coughing a lot, but that's about it). I honestly don't get why the media and everyone else is making such a big deal about it.

Diagnosed?

It's unwarranted media hype about something milder than the actual flu, because there's not much else worth reporting, or simply is an attempt to draw attention away from the recession onto such a DEADLY VIRUS

I went to the doctor, and he said I have swine flu. At first I figured he was acting too quickly, but I do have the other symptoms, although terribly mild. Still not entirely sure.

You can't be said to have swine flu unless it's been lab tested.

Otherwise it's merely clear that you have a flu-like illness.

They stopped testing after 90% of the tests were positive. It's assumed that I have swine flu, although I personally think that I am in the other 10%.

Either way, my mom had swine flu a few days ago, so I might have it.

I knew this, but it's less than the normal flu

I had the regular flu last year; it was terrible. Now, I have this, and it's nothing.

Unless they did some RTPCR while you weren't looking then diagnosed you, I wouldn't bother too much with flu symptoms that don't include crippling inability to move.


Also in during ITS THE MEDIA and ITS THE CORPORATIONS. In the rest of the world (gasp); it's just another illness we're trying to avoid.

yep.
apparently newspapers don't wanna admit the regular flu kills people all the time too.

I had the flu last year and threw up 8 times in 2-ish hours

There is no excuse to cease testing.

Chances are that I've had it, it really is no big deal. People stopped panicking over here quite quickly, nobody cares about it any more, it was really no different from any other flu season.

the media only posts the bad stuff to sell itself
if it said everyone was getting better (which most are)
they wouldn't sell as much now would they?

As far as I know it's not that big of a problem unless you happen to have some disorder or previous illness before getting infected

Pretty sure most cases of swine flu are mild and mean nothing, but occasionally they're serious and life-threatening.
