I'm just curious of what you'd make of unrequited love then by that logic?

obsession

In my opinion it's better to have tried and failed then never to have tried at all, you learn things you didn't know before, and the next time you try, it usually ends up better.

QUOTE (Pip @ Nov 1 2009, 11:54 PM)
ps it wasn't love if you break up

Well

Wasn't love from them. Could have been love from you

I've personally loved someone who might have loved me at one point. By the end though, they most surely did not. They fell out of love, or maybe were never in love in the first place. I was though.

I can tell you it really sucks to be in love with someone who doesn't love you back

But I did gain vital experience which helpped me into my current relationship

I don't even know if it's possible to love, let alone love and lose. Then again, I'm rather cynical when it comes to this topic.

That aside, I suppose it depends on how well you can take emotional pain of any sort. If you're emotionally fragile, then it is better to not risk heartbreak and therefore it is better to have not loved at all. If you don't take emotional pain too badly and are able to shrug it off easily, then it is arguably better to have loved and lost.

Then again, there is also the whole experience factor, and loving and losing is an experience that, if you want a successful relationship, is certainly very helpful to say the least.

Oh yeah, and Raie is absolutely 100% right.

QUOTE (B.M. @ Nov 1 2009, 06:28 PM)
So some dude was talking to me about how he asked this girl out and after the date they broke up and she said she just didn't really love him. His opinion was that if she didn't really like him, she shouldn't have went out with him in the first place?

wat dos mfg think

I'll read the rest of the topic, but I want to say that if she actually thought she'd love him after one "date", then she's pretty dumb.

I hate it when people go "OMG I"M IN LOEV!!!" when they hardly know someone or or just met them.

Hello, infatuation is not love.
