Yet when you put this logic in other scenarios, it doesn't work at all.

For example, I submit to you that it is possible to levitate using only your mind. You can't say it doesn't exist, because you've never done it.

Except I CAN say that it doesn't exist, since NOBODY has ever done it, nor will they ever do it.

Use a better example, bro.

love is a positive emotional attachment towards something; it can be with a sibling, a friend, a pet, or even an activity

romantic love is something different

which are we discussing

QUOTE (Raie @ Nov 6 2009, 08:01 PM)
Have you ever been in love before?

I have been in a position where I thought I was in love, but I later realized how silly that notion was. Because as soon as I started to learn more about that person, I realized they really weren't the kind of person I thought they were.

After that it kind of hit me. How can you fall in love if you don't even know everything about somebody? Once you learn everything about somebody and you still insist on loving them, that's not "falling in love". It's just analyzing their qualities and saying "I really like this person, they would be a good match for me." You can call this love if you wish, but love, in the form of a magical force that follows you around and dictates who would be a match for you, before you even know somebody, doesn't exist.

Well nobody has explicitly stated the difference yet.

Or if they have I must not have understood it.

Mind clarifying?

You know how when people are nervous around someone they like or have "butterflies"? That's usually infatuation.

Aren't you being a little over-analytical?

You'll never know everything about someone EVER, but there does exist natural chemistry between people. This is the "binding force" that you seem to keep wanting to call "magic."

ok, then uh, what's love?

It seems to me like some kind of mystery force that doesn't really mean anything and people just like using the word.

I mean I'm trying to be open-minded here but it just seems to be stepping more and more into the realm of the supernatural.
