An innocent bystander becomes the next Person B and the former Person B is reborn as a Person A and so the vicious cycle continues.

Sounds more like peer pressure and conforming to the norm than stupidity.

Though I wouldn't argue that stupidity doesn't travel like wildfire. It's not really something to get mad about, though -- smart people just learn to exploit it and use others' stupidity to their full advantage.

Like politicians -- loathsome as they are, I've got some respect for their skills to manipulate the completely asinine masses.
