I have it, but don't use it. I noticed it can't display subtitles correctly on certain programs I have whereas MPC and MPlayer can do so with ease.

On the other hand, the quick dual audio switcheroo you can utilize on VLC is pretty awesome.

VLC 1.1 is pretty awesome, i don't use it for music though.
