I'm posting this in the GC because I'm trying to get serious anwsers. I don't consider it a fourm game.

Please include at least some details other then like "though a friend".

My story,
Being 10 years old the only place I had ever visited was TMK and SM128C. After a few months I signed up on SM128C's boards. Not knowing what to do or anything I was looking for a online buddy. To my surprise people don't flame there as much as I've noticed in the past here. (To what I can remember) After getting AIM I decided to try some names on the members list. I found someone who I thought was funny because of their location " Stuck in a pipe! HELP!" This person may be reading this thinking, oh yeeeeah! So I IMed him and he was all "How'd you get this screen name?" After awhile we became...somewhere inbetween knowing each other and friends. He talked to me about making games with a program called The Games Factory. He kept saying stuff like go get a lib at MFGG. I had no clue what the hell he was talking about. He didn't even know (that or he was too lazy to tell me) So I searched it up on Google. I came across the site looking as it does now. Man it was cool! But, being only 10 I had no idea about ZIPS or anything. So I was totaly lost. This member sent me to Yoshiman over AIM. He taught me almost everything, and we kept in touch alot. About...a year later the first member and I lost touch and I almost totaly forgot about him. Then another year later (I was 12) Yoshiman said his dad found all these porn pop up since a viruis had infected his computer. He was dead. And sadly on his last day he said something about go post in my topic. I didn't know what he ment. Then he said PPP, being still lost he got me signed up for the board. Later that evening we said goodbye and I was alone. Then I got into the idea of Spriting, not knowing what ROMs and EMUs are I tought you had to clean them out piece by piece. Thinking I was a n00b everyone hated me. But I soon found out on my own how to rip and put together sprite sheets. One day I saw Yoshiman signed on. He said he was sneaking on but was still grounded. We talked now and then but not as much as before. About a Year and a fouth to the day I joined here I am. In case you're wondering who that member who helped me was, it was Superyoshi12 and he was only 8 at the time.

PK sitting out during a quizbowl match, and he was searching for something he was obsessed about- the Koopa Kids. So he searched and searched, and he found this weird site called MFGG where people made Mario games. So PK brought it home, and thought I would know what a "lib" was.
Believe it or not, before I joined the site, I downloaded games, libs, and made fangames for a year or two. It wasn't until March 2003 that I decided it was finally time to move on and try out the MFGG forum.
Look what's happened to me now. sad.gif

Downloaded the TGF trial(after originally having KNP). Was looking for some Mario sprites and try to make a Mario fangame of some sorts(I made Sonic games before then). Eventually I saw a place called "MFGG" and I was like "Hey this site is pretty cool. Mabye I should try downloading Mario stuff from here" Eventually I join the board in March 2002 after I my first subbission was added and here I am now.

Downloaded the TGF trial sometime in 2001 after seeing some of Freakzone's games and being intrigued by the fact that an individual person could make computer games that looked and played halfway decent. I was looking for some libs and somehow stumbled across MFGG (in either late 2001 or early/mid 2002). I joined the EZBoard and posted a few times as Samuel Dreamer, but I was pretty unnoticed (I do remember that in my first topic, Hippoman asked if I wanted an avatar). I quit posting on the board after probably a few days or a week, but continued to download stuff from the site. When the site went down in March 2003, I did a Google search for "Mario Fan Games Galaxy" and found where the new board was. I joined and I've been a member since.

He gave me the link, I followed it, pretty simple. I think I was going to see his sprite competition entries, and it all just happened to coincide with the devlopment of the first Pocket Mario. I wanted to show off the engine a bit, and got involved.

He started hosting the board (he owns Penguinia.net).

As for me being an admin, bribery back when the site was done with HTML instead of PHP, I took an update test and got the highest marks. So I became an admin.

Let's see heeeere.

I first heard about TGF at an old site called YBK, Banjo-Kazooie fansite. I got the program after a while, and started messing with it. That was probably when I was about 10-11. Then, I started searching for Mario sprites and resources, and came upon the site. I've been roaming around since the Ezbread days, but never really posted. I wasn't on as often, either. Then, I posted a question about Mario's Mansion on one of the earlier forms of the board I think (Hell if I can remember), and stayed. I left for three months I think, for all the reasons you could expect from a newbie. "Omfg, I have a life now, and I have to leave MFGG! I have a girlfriend, a dog, a TV, a pimpin' car, and a gun, ******!"

I joined about a year and a half ago. Almost exactly the day Banana Head joined. I know it was somewhere before July, maybe April or May. I have experienced the statue fad, the coming of KPP, and Waligie.

When I got my first computer, some 9 years ago. I had no idea where to go on this seemingly endless internet. So I usually bought a Computer Magazine which had this "good links page". One day they had yoshi's island X on the CD which accompanied every magazine. I was clearly amazed by this game. And when I learned one single man had made it, even more. The link to biebersoft was on the link page, and so I went there. After playing every game there, like 70 times. I decided maybe there was more of these pages, so I did a google search on Fangames, and the first page was bowser technologies.

Well. I've been using RPG maker 2000 and 2003 for some time. But I got bored with it, I wanted to make games such as platformers. So I downloaded Gamemaker. I needed some sprites and stuff, so I typed it in Google image search. Somewhere on page 5 or 6, I saw a sheet hosted on MFGG. Then I found out about libs, and downloaded TGF to get some backgrounds from various libs. However, gamemaker crashed and I lost my whole game. I was pissed. That was November/December 2002. So I went back to RPG Maker again, never returning to MFGG (I've never been at the forums). When I got bored with it again, I went back to MFGG to try making a Mario platform game again. That was 16th of August, 2003. biggrin.gif

I had KNP and wanted to make a mario game, I had no idea there were mario sprites or what even sprites were ( yes I was that much of a n00b : o ) and anyways I searched google for "waluigi pics" and it came up with that 8 direction waluigi that used to be on the site.. I was like "OMGerz" and downloaded everything on the site only to find out that they didn't work with KNP.. -_-;;
so I downloaded TGF, submitted a few things to the site, then couple of months later signed up to the board.

Found SFGHQ from a link a the Clickteam forums, then I went up to the Emulationzone Fangames main page, where both SFGHQ and MFGG were linked. I clicked on MFGG, and liked the look of it. And I liked the Bowser music biggrin.gif I downloaded some libs, played around with them, then made my own one. It was crappy (included a frame of ****ting Mario characters), but people on the forum said they liked it, yay.
