It's called button battle - an old thought I got a new idea for. And yes, I sort of gave up on that other game. Damn me...

So here's how it goes. It's a fighting game, but far from traditional. It's sort of like ddr, meets mario party minigames, and you mix them all up.

Because, you see, there are different fighting modes, which come on at different times during a battle.

First hit - the basic form of battle - a button is displayed on-screen and the first player to press that button punches, and the other gets hit. As soon as a button is pressed the next comes up, so it's very fast-paced.

Attack-Defend - the 2nd basic form of battle - the person deemed the "attacker" (which is first set by the person with the most health) has an arrow key displayed over their head. They press that key and the defender presses the opposite. If the defender screws up, the attacker remains on the offensive, but if the defender blocks, it switches around, and the defender, becomes the attacker.

Attack-Defend Combo(aka ninja flyby jump) - the "attacker" presses a series of letter keyes, and the defender must push the letter which comes after the letter the attacker pushed. If the defender blocks all of the attackers, the attacker gets hurt more, and if the defender screws up more, they get hurt more. Looks like one of those dramatic ninja jumps.

Signature Combo - a word is displayed over each character's head (their signature move name) and they must be the first to press all of the letters in the word to activate their combo. Of course this would be accompanies by funny extended syllables and a shouting of the word.

weapon/projectile fire - both players roll backwards and as they do a bar appears, much like on the teapot game in warioware. the player must stop the moving bar closest to the middle as possible. Player with the bar closest to the middle scores the hit.

Rush - a timer appears and begins to count down from 5, as the screen gets black around the character's eyes. The counter dissapears at three, and the players must try to press their button closest to zero. Player closest scores the hit.

Arm lock - players lock grasps and try to tap a key fastest to win the outcome of the push.

I can't think of any more right now

Here's how a fight goes:

You choose a specific setup from a list. This setup, using a counter clock, summons different fight types at different times. There would also be a create-a-sequence, so that someone could make their own custom battles, and try to suprise their opponent.

I'd have to tweak this a bit for it to work...
