Cackletta Sprite Competition

It's supposed to be a super happy fun competition, not a go one up on everyone elses ideas competition. It's like stealing some kids assignment for school and changing the words to make it sound better. Right now I don't know which animation of your sprite i'm supposed to be judging.

actually, for me it's a test-your-skills type of competition, and I am expanding my spriting skills by testing every base available. I can't work freeform, or out-of-the-blue - these competitions are the equivalent of someone telling me what to do, and those are the only circumstances I can work under.

If you're going to judge anything, let it be the first sheet, as these are just products of my trying-something-new.

I'm just seeing what I can do with things, and I don't have enough self-guidance to create my own field of work.

Here's mine, it is NOT finished yet, I intend to sprite most of Cackletta's animations from the game, so I hope I have time to get it in.



This is an RPG Maker styled Cackletta, and characters in RPG Maker games can only be so big. This sprite pretty much fills up the entire area available. Hence, she looks small and rather chibi-ish, but it's intentional!!

This is for my RPG, so I'd appreciate it not being used if you don't mind.

Crap, now I'll have to do a custom Fawful sprite too, isn't that just a shame...

Here's the second animation for it, the cape raising animation. I slowed it down so you could see it good, it'll be speedier in the game. Also when I have all the animations I'll make a sprite sheet.



I need to do something with her head in this animation, change her facial expression or something. Btw, if anyone thinks they can improve this or if anyone wants to try doing some of the animations themselves, feel free to, I doubt I'll win anyway, and I'm making this more for my game than anything else, so we could have a team effort if anyone doesn't want to make their own sprite and would rather work on someone else's. ^^

I know her cape is supposed to be shaped like batwings, but I couldn't do it because the area I was working in is so very small.

Looks odd...

Crap, you know what I just realized...that pink thing around her red dress is the batwing part, and i left it in for the animation. I'll have to fix that.

I think it looks awesome. Are we ready to start the Top 5 listing? I have my Top 5 right now if we're ready.

I made the animation a bit smoother, still need to fix her dresscape though.

Just did a snickering animation, or a bobbing head animation. I'm gonna make another for when she laughs really hard and her tongue pokes out.

So now I have three animations total:

Um... you guys? What is that white part on her head? Cackletta doesn't have that. She has a blue round jewel on her forehead. Look at her official artwork... *prepares to be shot*

IN the game it is white.



Anyways. ALl these are great sprites. I was working on one but i decided to quit.

Added a diabolical laugh. I need to adjust some things, namely that damn white spot on her head, it needs to move too. And I need to make the tongue waggle more.

And I couldn't get my laughing animation the way I wanted to so I guess this is the final version of my entry.

I improved it somewhat, refresh if you want, just a few tiny adjustments. Still doesn't look quite right though, I'm thinking I didn't angle her bows correctly or something.

I still think SP's are better then most then most of these. Klobbers is nice too tho

I am on a roll! Here comes the OMG WTF sprite, you only see the original ONE time in Superstar Saga, in the Hooniversity when you surprise Cackletta.
