Noveroth online, mMORPG

the topic's description is deciving it's a "m"MORPG, Mini multiplayer online RPG.

basically, you create your character in the character creation screen, all hand done, custom text, animations, character bases. then distribute your 50 points.
then after that, you can enter "the world" with a group of friends(16 players max) and you can go questing in a lttp style gameplay, except it has a bit of a final fantasy element in it.

so far there are 200 classes to chose from, every single thing in the game is custom made, secret classes awarded through contests, equipment is visibly changed and there are over 10 hairstyles to pick from.

i will have a couple screenshots up soon.

That sounds good, indeed! Now, I'd like to see you pull all that off.

200 classes? i doubt one person could pull something like that off

actually there is four of us, one is doing character designs and effects, i am managing and programming the game, one is doing story, and the other is spell making.

also as a little update for info, this is a geavily anime based game, filled with many things from different series.

At the most, you want eight starting classes that divide into two secondary classes.

dude, i tried to make a Mario, Sonic, and Zelda MMORPG with my friend. we thought it would be the greatest thing ever, it never really took off and such. and i doubt it ever will. your project seems to be nothing different with the exception that you have original characters. i'm not saying you won't be able to do it. i'm just saying that it will be incredibly hard.

...How's that Mini? I'd say it's friggin huge!

How is it possible to have 200 classes without getting repetitive? Unless you have close to 200, or even 100, or hell, even 50 different stat differences per class, it is not possible to have 200 different classes. And it's not possible to have 50+ different stat differences (that even sounds overly exaggerated but I'm totally serious here, you'd THINK each class has AT LEAST one difference in ONE seperate stat each, such as a knight having different vitality than a wizard, or a wizard having different defense than a bard), so it's definitely impossible to have 200 classes without half the classes being exactly the same.




You get what I mean? It's all math. That's what one of these runs on. And so far it seems really impossible. So proof plz.

the game has classes ranging from cook - Mech pilot, it's set in a pst/future mythlogical setting, there may be less than 200 classes(current list totals 126), but definatly over 200 titles. and by Mini multiplayer online RPG, you get a group of friends and go through an RPG. so no 700 people on at once only a total of 16.

can you like play by yourself?

yes you can play by yourself, and your characters always save where they were, so you can have everyone on seperate quests, and different levels, and from other group games.

yes, but can you like, play OFFLINE? so that you won't clog up the server, since it only allows like 16 people?

Aah, so you host your own game.

How exactly would a mech pilot work? It wouldn't be much of a quest if you can just get a big mech while everyone else is running around with swords and stuff...

the plot is the same as my manga(i will post that when i get issue one done[half way ]) it basically starts off in a mythiucal type world and then goes to a futuristic type world, wheree you can cross class with high tech classes. and yes you can play by yourself.

Update on game:

-all sprites are done, sorta(you never know)
-Chapters 1-3 complete
-movement, menu and clothing engine working smoothly


note i haven't started making the towns and such, but my friend has some wicked ideas for it.
