I finished modelling the major parts of the first level. If you didn't know, Mario Spy 3D is like SSB: 2d gameplay in a 3d world. This isn't the level finished, but the level is just a 3d version of the 2d levels, so Mario Gamer is still the level designer.

Got the desks and other stuff, doors, elevators, and even the alarm for now. As of now, I'm working on putting my Mario model in it and testing gameplay on it.


And don't give me "OH NO BACKGROUND SHOOT HIM" or whatever. There's no background as of yet, all I'm showing you is the model of the first level so far, so you get somewhat of an idea of what this'll be like.

Level design seems very straightforward. There seems to be no obstacles or changes in the level yet.

Yeah, but you can't really change the desks, it'll look stupid, it's government buildings, after all. I'll rearrange things on and beside the desk to make them different.


And no, not C++, I'm not that advanced yet. DarkBasic.



And yes, there's not alot of obstacles, but this is just the first level, can't make it too hard. Besides, there's alot of guards.



And Shadowman, this is side view, not behind him. I COULD make it behind him, but it'd be really awkward. But then again, I could have different cool camera angles as you do stuff in the game.





Oh, one more thing: Don't expect the level to look THIS good in the gameplay. This is a rendered scene in 3D Studio Max, it makes things lovely. I can't do that in actual gameplay. You know, like in Sonic Heroes, the gameplay cut-scenes aren't as good as the CG cut-scenes. That kind of thing.

OK, I look forward to it. I guess any 3D fangame just reeks of vaporware to me due to run-ins with one hyperactive mouthbreather too many. Don't rush anything just because of my rantings, though.
