Not that I'm ever going to make this game - it was one of those "1-spritesheet" games, where I make a sprite, make an idea, make some animations, and then stop, and make a different sprite and set the first idea aside. It happens a lot. However, if someone was going to make this game based off of this storyline and needed the rest of the animations for this guy and Kamek and whatever, then I could make those. Just... I couldn't make any level-sprites or BG's, or program anything.

Now, for the story.

The reason there's a child version is because the game it was intended for starts you out in this toad's childhood. All of the other toad children made fun of him because he looked different and had big eyes and stuff. So, distressed, you run off into the woods.

I'd better set the stage before I go any further. This is taking place way before Bowser. This is a time when koopas and toads are good friends, and live together, along with various other enemy-types who were good at this time. The only real "bad guys" were the magikoopas. The practice of magikoopa magic was outlawed, forcing small, cult-sorts of magikoopas into the woods to continue their practices.

Now, back to this toad. He's running in the woods, and accidentally stumbles into the last known Magikoopa... I'll say cult for now. He tries to escape but they capture him.

Intending to sacrifice him (he's only a kid, remember), or just kill him, seeing as he's one of the toads and it was the toads who outlawed their magic, they lock him in a cage. It's in this cage, at night, that he meets Kamek. Kamek is only a young magikoopa but is looking to become one of the strongest. Anyways, they become friends when the meet at that cage, and Kamek shows him some spells. Then, he wants to try, so Kamek, reluctantly, thinking he won't be able to do anything, lets him try. So he repeats what Kamek did and makes a spell, say, 10 times as effective.

Everyone rushes to see what's the matter, and seeing how powerful he is as a toad, along with the begging of Kamek, they teach him. Throughout this game "prologue", the different high-magikoopas (there's a fire one, a water one, essentially really good, old specialists) teach you different skills, as you progressively get older.

Finally, at the end of the prologue, you have a magic sparring match against Kamek - and loose, of course, but non-lethally. You guys are good friends.

Now, being a toad and knowing the magic, and being relatively old (like, in your 50's or so) you sre sent back to the... I think it wasn't the Mushroom Kingdom back then, but I can't remember. Anyways, while you were gone, the Toads had banished all of the Koopas and other creatures, and created the mushroom kingdom. They send out their army to destroy the remaining Magikoopas they just located, moments before you get back. As you try to convince the kingdom to accept, and are immediately chased away, at the same time the army is destroying all of the magikoopas.

Shunned once again, you run back to the Magikoopa gathering site, and (all emotional and sad) you find it empty, and in ruins. Confused, you begin to leave when you encounter Kamek. He's all angry, because he thinks you ratted them out to the toad army, and fights you, a lot tougher than the first spar, and you loose quickly. He takes your (his old) wand, breaks it in two, and then, because you were good friends, only freezes you in time.

In the time you are frozen, Yoshi's Island 2 happens. Technically, the leader of the Koop De Resistance is born (Bowser), and he rules under Kamek's guidance.

Now, for the actual game-type. Young Mario and Peach are walking throught the woods. They aren't supposed to be seen together, because she's royalty and he isn't. So they have to meet in secret like this.

As they are walking, going deeper into the woods, they find the magitoad - still in his 50's, frozen in time. Mario goes up to him and, I can't remember... wait. First, kamek comes in and steals peach. Then mario, running through the woods, encounters the frozen Magitoad, and accidentaly breaks the spell. Then Mario and he have a big conversation.

Then, the real game starts, as the Magitoad helps Mario rescue the princess, to repay the breaking of his spell. You start with no wand, using only close-range combat magic. On your way you learn spells to power up Mario - to let him jump higher, use fireflowers and all that (there are still the stars from YI2 that give him capes, those are unexplained in their magic).

The bosses are, of course, the wise old Magikoopas with the set skills. They are spread out and in hiding, teaching small groups of koopas how to use their magic. They also think you are the traitor and you have no choice but to fight them. After you beath them you remember the spells they taught you (You sort-of had amnesia after being frozen for so long). which you use in both combat and, after getting a new wand or whatever, in long-distance magic.

The last fight, of course, is with Kamek, not much older then as seen in YI2. After first sight, you instantly remember who he is and have a big conversation. Then, you fight him, he dies for good, and then you fight Bowser and, well, loose. Mario, however, all powerful as he is currently, rescues the princess, and the very last level is you as mario getting her out of the castle (You're both still kids, remember this).

So, the game ends where you die, and Mario becomes a hero, Magikoopa Magic becomes more widespread but not as specialized like the wise old ones (However, here's a hint. The wise one of Fire had a circle as an emblem. The wise one of water had a square. The wise one of electricity had a triangle. Now think about a Magikoopas magic spell.). Bowser continues capturing the princess, Mario saving her, and then there is of course Kamek's daughgter, what's-her-name from PM.

The end.

Those sprites remind me of Illusion of Gaia style. Which I love very much.
If the whole game is sprited like that, including BGs, it'd look awesome.
